The Ilanga Cup serves as a platform for Solar Car Teams, professionals, and amateurs alike, to compete on a smaller and more financially viable scale in the hopes of learning, growing, and improving with regards to team dynamics and the vehicle itself.  With these opportunities, the hopes are to nurture young and upcoming Solar Car Teams and grow existing Solar Car Teams to competing in larger-scale events that are internationally recognised such as our very own South African Sasol Solar Challenge.
